If you chum...they will come. But don't forget the bag.
Which Chum Net?
1) Small Mesh Bag 1/4" - Use for chumming bait. Pinfish, Ballyhoo, Pilchards, etc. Catch your bait, then freeze leftover chum/bag then re-use on future trips. Does not flow enough chum to keep larger fish interested especially once oils and smaller chum bits have been used up.
2) Large Mesh Bag 1/2" - Most popular chum bag by beginner reef fisherman. Good balance between chum flow and chum block longevity(economical). Flows enough to attract fish/bait and keep them engaged but mesh size limits chum flow making chum blocks last longer. The limiting factor is that by reducing the chum flow, you limit the amount of fish attraction and how long those fish will stay engaged.
3) 3/4" Mesh Chum Bag - Made for the experienced and local fisherman who regularly Yellowtail. The mesh size distributes enough chum and a larger size of chum bits to reach deeper in the water column and to attract/satisfy larger schools and larger fish. Requires a larger amount of chum blocks per trip.
4) 1" Mesh Chum Bag - Made for guides and experienced reef fisherman. This net flows a lot of chum which will attract a lot of fish but burns through quite a few blocks of chum per trip. Necessary if you are looking for size and volume of fish.
5) Chum Cage 1"x1/2" - Made out of Galvanized wire, this make cleaning extremely easy. Made of wire, you can use the cage to sink the chum block by adding weight but yet have some Shark protection. Great for shallow water reef bottom fishing. The hole size provides good chum flow to attract fish and enough flow to keep them around. Requires a larger amount of chum blocks.
6) 3/4" Mesh Chum Ring - Made for the experienced and local fisherman who regularly Yellowtail. The mesh size distributes enough chum and a larger size of chum bits to reach deeper in the water column and to attract/satisfy larger schools and larger fish. Requires a larger amount of chum blocks per trip.
7) 1" Mesh Chum Ring - Made for guides and experienced reef fisherman. This net flows a lot of chum which will attract a lot of fish but burns through quite a few blocks of chum per trip. Necessary if you are looking for size and volume of fish.
8) 1 1/4" Mesh Chum Ring - Made for commercial and serious reef fisherman. Can accept the 25lb blocks of chum and multiple blocks of standard chum. This is a multiple chum case per trip chum net.
9) 1 1/2 Mesh Power Chum Ring - Made for commercial and serious reef fisherman. Extra thick mesh to prevent nibblers biting through the net. Can hold a full case of chum or two 25lb blocks of chum at once. This is the net for "power chumming" where it is common to use over 100lbs of chum per trip.
